| On 31st March 1969 a meeting was held to found Nenagh Credit Union, 75 people were in attendance. Board of Directors consisting of 15 people and a Supervisory Committee consisting of 3 people were elected.

| The newly elected Board of Directors held their first meeting on 2nd April. The Executive of the Board and a Credit Committee were appointed. The initial venue for the collection of member’s monies was ‘The Institute’ in Friar Street.

| On 16th July 1970 the First Annual General Meeting took place. Membership at this point was 290 members
| 1971
| In March 1971 the collection point was transferred to the Legion Hall (now Loreto House) in Kenyon Street.
| 1978
| Nenagh Credit Union purchased a premises in Silver Street.
| 1980
| On 17th October 1980 the renovated premises in Silver Street were officially opened for business.
| 1985
| Following the growth in membership and expansion of services, Joan Hynes was appointed as the first official Manager of Nenagh Credit Union
| 1987
| Members savings grew to £1 million
| 1991
| At the Annual Conference of the Irish League of Credit Unions, Nenagh Credit Union was awarded the Credit Union Cup in recognition of it being to the forefront in promoting the aims, ideals and philosophy of the Credit Union Movement.

| The premises in Silver Street were deemed no longer adequate. Consequently the current premises at Kickham Street were purchased.
| 1996
| On 18th March 1996 the extensively restored and redeveloped premises at Kickham Street were officially opened by the then Úachtaran na hÉireann, Mrs Mary Robinson.
| 2009
| Nenagh Credit Union celebrated their 40th Anniversary. Members’ savings had grown to in excess of €40 million.
| 2015
| On 23rd May 2015 refurbished offices are officially re-opened by Fiona Bonfield, Cathaoirleach Nenagh Municipal District and Daryl McCormack. The credit union’s IT system was upgraded to allow for the addition of further services.

Nenagh Credit Union has served their members well since 1969 and as long as there are active members, it will continue to do so in to the future. There has always being a great sense of loyalty and support from our members.
